Badminton Camp

2010

Overview




Camp is half instruction and half games.  

Player's registering need their own badminton racket and of course running shoes.

Birds (within reason) will be provided.

Purpose  

1) Fun 

2) Recreational

3) Learning to play with skill the game of Badminton

 

Who Your family (or just yourself).

Anyone 8 and older.  

When Camp One - July 5 to 9, 2010

Camp Two - July 19 to 23, 2010

Advanced Camp - Must be able to serve to attend
                            - Aug. 3 to 6, 2010 - 4 days only

All Camps daily from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm daily.

Gym at MAIN PLACE will be open and supervised for Camp participants to play from 8:30 am till 6:00 pm for drop off and pick up convenience.  We will escort campers back and forth between the two locations as needed.

Three hours

 

Time in gym will feature half the time on instruction and the other half of the time playing badminton with your peers, implementing the skills being learned.

Special Note Please no ankle socks as blisters develop on the achilles' tendon due to the amount of running that occurs in our camps. 

Please use longer length athletic socks (preferably two per foot) help to reduce/prevent this problem. 

Cost Advance payment Camp Fee - $35.00 for the week.
Send payment to Erin Hoops, c/o Patrick Suessmuth, R.R.#2, Hillsburgh, Ont.  N0B 1Z0 or drop off fee at MAIN PLACE.

At the door Camp Fee - $50.00 for the week.

Registration

Limited registration

Registration in advance is necessary. 

Camp is limited to 24 players.

Register early to avoid disappointment.

Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

Registration to date in Camp One is 1 of the 24 limit.

 

Registration to date in Camp Two is 3 of the 24 limit.

 

Registration to date in Advanced Camp is 8 of the 24 limit.

About our

Coaches

and Coaching
 

Coaching ratio: 1 coach to 10 campers MAXIMUM

Coaches will be at least one adult per camp with remaining coaches being Erin Hoops trained university and older high school students.  These coaches bring over 15 years of camp leadership skills in our camps into the 2010 Summer Camps.

Our coaching philosophy consists of coaches using:
               high praising
                 high directing
                   high verbal
                     high encouragement
                       high interpersonal skills
                         constructive criticism as needed

Wednesday Evening
Family Badminton

Overview





Come out and hit a bird around...have a game or two.

This is a family event too, so do not hesitate to bring your kids.

Play is non-competitive, casual, and for fun and learning.

Bring your own badminton racket.  Birds are available.

Purpose

Starting - Sept. 17, 2008

Where MAIN PLACE in the old Erin Public School at 185 Main Street in the Village of Erin between Scotch and English Streets.

Evening

 

Evening starts casually, with warm-ups of just hitting the bird back and forth.

Games follow for the rest of the evening.  These games are for fun and are only lightly competitive.  People laugh, congratulate each other on good hits, rest a bit and socialize, sip some water, and go back to playing again.  Being in physically fit is not what this is about, it is recreational with fitness coming with time.

Cost Donation based.  Jar for donations is at the doorway into the gym.

No registration is necessary.  This is a family, for fun, casual evening out.
