Overview

No need for kids to be home alone after school.

MAIN PLACE is open daily after school.

MAIN PLACE is supervised.

A place to play with other kids.

Well over 100 different activities for fun and creative recreation with other kids.

Purpose

1) Help parents with something for kids to do.

Kids do not need to be home alone.

2) Supervised fun with other kids

3) Recreational

4) Creative Play in supervised environment

Who

Any youth who needs a safe place to be after school.

Ages 6 & 7 should have older brothers and sisters or parents accompanying them until fully familiar with MAIN PLACE environment. Usually takes two to three visits.

Fun for kids improved if a friend or friends come too.

When

Open each day after school from

3 to 6 pm throughout the school year.

Where

MAIN PLACE in the old Erin Public School at 185 Main Street in the Village of Erin between Scotch and English Streets.

Typical

Afternoon

Noisy. Kids love to yell and shout, screaming too. Few adults can stand the expressed enthusiasm of free and open play indoors.

Fast paced, play goes from one activity to another. Kids love the right to create their own games with the MAIN PLACE "stuff".

Activities include everything for a kids delight: tag, hide and seek, playing drums or the organ, bouncing a basketball, hitting balls or birds with rackets, drawing, etc.

Older youth socialize, do homework, play, and enjoy a break in the day.

Cost

Donation based. Jar for donations is at the doorway into the gym.

Registration

No registration is necessary. This is a drop-in environment designed to provide supervised freedom for kids to play with their friend (old or new).
