Variety Sports Camp

Ages 6 and older

 Soccer Ball and Goal

Overview

Each morning and each afternoon will be devoted somewhat to a single sport, and playing games in that sport will be the predominate activity.

Camp coaches will likely be experienced, local volunteers both adults and mature teenagers.

Players registering should wear normal sports ware, i.e., running shoes and shorts.

These Variety Sport Camps will be divided into two divisions. One Division for youth ages 6 to 9 and the other Division for monsters ages 9 and older.

Rain, extreme summer heat, and camper fatigue can all lead to a video being shown at any time in our camps.  Sample videos used include: Sandlot, The Big Green, Kicking and Screaming. Like Mike, A Kid In King Arthur's Court, Rebound, etc.

Typical

Half Day

Each morning and afternoon will feature a different sports activity.  Games will be played and coaching on the sport will be provided mainly within the context of playing the game.  Depending on the interests expressed more than one activity may be occurring at the same time, i.e., floor hockey may be the featured sport, but some people may opt for soccer or ping pong instead, staff and numbers permitting, the alternate sport may also be played.  This applies in both Divisions, numbers permitting.

A sport related youth video will often be shown in this camp, either because of rain/inclement weather or youths are physically worn out and need a significant break.  Sample videos used include: Sandlot, The Big Green, Kicking and Screaming. Like Mike, A Kid In King Arthur's Court, Rebound, etc.

Special Note
Please no ankle socks as blisters develop on the achilles' tendon due to the amount of running that occurs in our camps.

Please use longer length athletic socks (preferably two per foot) to help reduce/prevent this problem.

No sandals or flip flops - running shoes are a must.
