Overview

Experience over the years has indicated youths like to see movies once in a while over the summer.  We use them on rainy days when being outdoors is unacceptable.  Also when campers become fatigued, en mass, we have been known to run a movie as a change of pace for the campers.

So we now have a morning "gentle" sports and games camp followed by a afternoon movie.

This is a GENTLE camp.  Campers will NOT come home dead tired for a change from our other camps.  Movies are shown on the wall via a media projector so the picture is gigantic.  Youths are expected to sit or lie on the gym floor as no seating will be provided.  (Quietly crawling about is allowed.)

Purpose

1) Fun

2) Gently recreational

3) To enjoy the following movie during the summer:

Sample only of the type of movies to be shown.

Coaches select day's movie based on interests of campers.

Campers are free to bring their own DVDs to be considered for showing.

Monday afternoon: AVATAR: BLUE PEOPLE (2009)

Tuesday afternoon: BLINDSIDE (2009)

Wednesday afternoon: KUNG FU PANDA (2009)

Thursday afternoon: ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS (2009)

Friday afternoon: PRINCE OF PERSIA (2010)

Alternate movie: NATIONAL VELVET (1944)

Please note, movies are subject to change by participant desires or unavailability of the movie.
