Hello there fellow camper...are you looking forward to having fun?  Your camp coaches are looking forward to having fun so we hope you are too.

We are all at this camp to:

In coming to the camp here is information you need to know:

Please...

don't handicap your skateboarder...

a good/decent skateboard is critical for this camp's activities

0) Protect your children's feet:

This camp involves a lot of foot work and can lead to sore feet.  To help reduce this problem we recommend; One: Shoes must be tied tight.  Two: 1 or preferably 2 athletic (not ankle) socks should be worn on each foot.  Three: Be sure your child's sport shoes fit correctly.  If your child has sore feet at the end of the day, may we suggest this simple remedy, soak her/his feet for 20 minutes in a warm water epson salts solution.

 1) Clothing:

A) You must have and wear a helmet (elbow pads, knee pad, and gloves are optional, but do prevent

injuries on hard pavement where skateboarding is done.  It has been interesting to observe that

more pads are worn after a few scrapes and bruises.).

B)  Hats as protection from the sun are desirable.

C)  Running shoes tied tight are required.  No sandals or flip flops - running shoes are a must.

D)  Sunscreen is also needed.

2) Bring a lunch and a morning and afternoon snack as desired.  No peanut butter sandwiches though in case someone has an allergic reaction to this food.

3) Bring your own drinks too.  A water bottle is almost essential.  Please though, NO GLASS containers, if glass breaks it becomes a real safety hazard in the camp.

4) The camp's core hours are from 9 to 4.   MAIN PLACE will be open and supervised from 8:30 am for early drop-off and to 6:00 pm for late pickup.

5) The camp is not run by rules.  There is one rule though that must be made clear - YOU MAY NOT LEAVE THE CAMP (once you are there) WITHOUT PERMISSION and if someone other than your parents/guardian are picking you up, please be sure you know the person BEFORE approaching any vehicle that seems to have come to take you home.

6) The camp attempts to create a free open learning atmosphere.  There is at least one coach for every 10 campers, so please feel free to ask coaches to help you learn things.  The coaches are there for your learning.  ASK.  Help will be freely available.  Have FUN too.

7) DON’T BRING MONEY OR VALUABLES.  There is no secure place to keep valuables

8) Bringing sun screen is advisable, and also a towel.

9) Also please tell your parents or guardians that they are welcome to come and watch the camp at all time.  What goes on in your camp is not secret, it is open for everyone to share in.  So Mom's and Dad's come on out.  Bring a smile and bring a camera.  Enjoy your child’s summer skateboard camp in Erin, but be aware that we will often not be at MAIN PLACE, but on skateboard trips on the sidewalks around Erin.

10) Finally, you are welcome to bring a friend too.  If your friend wants to attend the rest of the camp and there is adequate room, an adjusted fee for days attended will be asked for (usually $15/day).

Sincerely
Your coaches…
