Tuesday

Evening

Full court pick-up games occur, when ten or more people show up (otherwise we play half court games 4-on-4 or whatever).  When score is kept, games are to 15 points on a point a basket with three point shots worth two points.  (When a score is 15-14 the game continues until one team wins by 2 points.)

Pick-up teams are balanced to make games competitive.

Everyone is asked to bring a WHITE and a DARK (coloured) t-shirt, as teams play white against dark.  Grey t-shirts are discouraged.

Substitution of extra players occurs continually throughout the evening.  Everyone wanting equal playing time with everyone else, gets it.

Everyone is responsible for calling their own fouls.  Courtesy here is sometimes difficult.

House Rules Two house rules exist:

1) If someone "hits-the-floor" all game activity stops to check if the person is OK.  (We are competitive, but not so competitive that concern for fellow players, other adults, other human beings is lost.)  Human safety comes first.

2) Anytime someone gets hurt - all game activity automatically stops.

3) A enforced 5 minute time-out is used rarely, but if tempers between overly competitive players flare, threatening physical violence, a 5 minute time-out is used.  This may happen once in 35 evenings of play.

High School players are eligible to play equally with the adults.
