(a variation of Back and Forth

                  which uses 3 balls)

Basketball Drill

Greenvale Basketball Club Inc. (A0025777N)

http://greenvalegrizzlies.asn.au/coaching.htm

Type: Power lay-ups

Description:

Two balls are placed on the low blocks.

One player is the post shooter, two other

players are to rebound balls and place them

back on the low blocks after each shot.

Post shooter starts in middle of lane and alternately picks up each ball

off low block and makes post move to the basket (maximum of one

power dribble allowed).

Players rotate positions after specified time.

Variations:

3 balls can be used with one of the non-post players holding it to place on the block where the post player picks up the ball to make her/his move.

Specify types of move to be made (e.g. drop-step baseline into power

lay-up, drop-step middle into baby hook etc.).

Most baskets in certain time (e.g. one minute).

Points of Emphasis:

1. Work hard.

2. Concentrate on footwork.

3. Get body parallel to backboard for power lay-ups.

4. Put the ball up strong with two hands well above the ring.
